Help

Hi,On my 2000 e430 i just bought the clips for the front splash guard (under car). When you push the clips in from underneath the car they just fall out.Are you supposed to open/stretch the little wings on them so that they fit snugly? Thanks.

Yes, the issue may be that rust has enlarged the hole to a point that the fastener will not open enough to allow for the enlarged hole------have you looked at the condition of the sheet metal?????

thanks for reply,The metal itself is in great shape. So i guess i'll pry open the little wings on the clip a bit till it holds in place. What do they have against using the simple plastic push in fasteners that the rest of the world uses.I didn't enjoy driving home (15 miles) at 35mph on the highway to keep the splash guard from flapping around.

When you screw in the screw the wings will spread out. On my car they will sometimes fall out when I remove the screw, so I will use a little weatherstrip adhesive the next time it happens.
