98 E320 w/39000 original miles....
I'm thinking about purchasing another W210...my '96 has 283Kmiles and need some repairs that will probably cost me about $1500 (not Stealer price)..
A friend just called me to let me know that his friend's grandmother is seller her 98 E320 w/ 39,000 original miles...asking price $4K. I haven't seen it yet.
he said there is a slight dent underneath the front ... but not very visible...
Do you guys think that's a good price?
Is there any other way to verify the mileage other than odometer..incase the odometer has been switched?
Thanks in advance for your input and suggestions...
cheers!!!

I recently bought my son his 1st car. I looked for months and found a 98 E320 silver with 85k. I paid $5800 in Atlanta. Cheaper than Kbb & Nada showed. It has no accidents, verified everything with Carfax, you could also use Autocheck. I'm having to spend money to get maintenance up to date, but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my cars. You will be spending $ on it.

At 39k, the interior should be practically pristine (as should everything, if properly maintained). Also, no big buzzes, squeaks , rattles yet. Other than Carfax info, that would probably be the best indicator that the mileage is credible.

98 Brilliant Silver E320 Wagon
As with any used car check on the service history. It's very unlikely the odo is wrong but it's easily verifiable by comparing mileage and dates on service invoices or on a Carfax report. As was previously mentioned, just because it's very low mileage that doesn't mean it hasn't been subjected to ~15years of smog, ozone and ultraviolet light. Expect plastic parts to break unexpectedly.
Overall, W210's are safe and reasonably economical for a luxury car especially if you can do some of the light maintenance yourself. Like oil changes, filter replacements, etc. The asking price seems fair.
