1999 E300TD P0200 code
This is a continuation of my troubleshooting the P0200 code that I getwhen the engine randomly quits. I connected a voltage meter to pins 18 and 43of the ECM as I suspected the ECU was stopping the voltage to the Fuel Shut-Offactuator. The engine randomly quit and I never lost power, 12 volts, to theShut-Off. So I have determined the ECU continues to power the Shut-Off duringthe stalls.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
I have a voltage meter connected to pins 37 and 54 of the ECM and I ammonitoring the voltage to the Fuel Quantity Actuator (Y23/1). With the key onand/or the engine running the voltage is 3.5 volts. The voltage increases anddecreases in relation to the throttle. If I rapidly remove my foot from thethrottle the voltage drops to -0.0 (minus zero) until I once again press thethrottle and it returns to 3.75 -4.05 volts.<o:p></o:p>
Twice while driving the car at 55 mph the engine quit and the voltagedropped to 0.0 (zero). I cycled theswitch twice before the voltage showed 3.75 and I was able to restart theengine. It appears that the ECM is cutting voltage to the Fuel QuantityActuator. I have determined that pin 37 supplies 12 volts to the ECM I intendto check that voltage the next time the engine quits. This will show if it isan ECM problem or if the problem is upstream from there.
Mercedesecu.Com has re-manufactured ECUs and needs the old ECM and keyto clone the replacement ECM. They said it will be a plug and pay for $665. Hasanyone used their service and would you recommend them?
Thanks, Scott<o:p></o:p>
