E420 1997 rev high
Have a 1997 E420 low mileage not used for a while. Had the transmission worked on. Now it revs high at about 2500rpm at 60 mph. If the gas pedal is released it revs down real fast. Help!!!!! Sometimes have to release pressure on the gas pedal for it to change gears.

the RPM in N is at 700rpms and in D about the same. I do not understand while i have to release the gas pedal slightly to shift.
