Cold STart issue 1997 e320
It has not responded to periodic casual attempts to start it since then. I finally got time to look at it today.
No codes, not even when cranking.
No start. Cranks fine. Fuel pressure seemed OK (50psi). managed to start it with ether, but still required cranking. Starts fine, for now.
Have live data from sensors while running if it will help. I am thinking a new fuel filter and a new Crank Position Sensor for a shotgun approach to this.
I am completely at a loss here. It reminds me of an old car with vapor lock.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim
I was leaning that way as there are a couple of good indies in the area, the daughter needs a dependable car, and there's little sense in taking a chance on a tow bill in addition to the repair bill.
Why won't this car do the sensible thing and stay in failure mode until I replace the correct part?!
