E300D EGR final solution

So I've been wondering... Is there any way on the 97 606.912 to delete the egr by means of fooling the ecu or perhaps flashing it?? I want all that ugly crap in by the intake gone

Nope and take some time to understand the why and the where for of the EGR!! Once again you will be amazed!!

If you live in an exhaust testing state----screwing around like you want to will get you a no pass---expensive and then you will be back whining about the no pass problem!!

If not then you will be back whining about "Help--my gas mileage just went to hell--- its gotta be the MAF---isn't it??"

The '97 diesel does not have a mass airflow sensor (MAF).

I had my ECU programmed by Speedtuning to disable the EGR function. Some members on the peachparts.com forum have a DIY on it as well.

I don't know about the Speedtuning disable, but the peachparts DIY does not work on the '97. The '97 is a bit strange and I am not aware of any disable except for plugging the exhaust port and providing filtered air to the EGR valve. This will not work in VA where the emission equipment can not be obviously modified, although emissions are not checked where I live.

In CA, diesels below 98 don't need emissions.
