Got my headlights professionally restored.. At WalMart.
I was sick and tired of looking for a drill sander set for my headlights, and had already failed with one manual headlight cleaning kit. I was at wal mart looking for a drill sanding kit and of course they did not have one. The auto guy recommended that I let their service guys do it.. For $40. I decided to do it! It took 1.5 hours and I am very happy with the results.
Their process is drill sanding. They use 2 different grits, followed by 'drill sanding' on polish with a polish pad + drill. This is DEFINITELY the proper way to do it. If you're thinking about doing it with sandpaper and your hand, think again and look at my previous thread.
My old thread about the manual headlight cleaner:

The W210 is seriously sexy. I love it. Mercedes made a great car.

after i prettied up my headlights i had the detailer apply one of those 3m type
plastic overlays over it. maybe it will help with the UV...definitely will help keep
the grit from kicking into it on the road. they did a nice job on your lights !

Thanks Raymond. I may have to look into that, I don't want them to get bad again.

Honestly what I would do is go to walmart, drop the $40, an then use a protectant to make sure it lasts. It's slowly fading and I wish they used more sealant. I will probably do it again next year.
