Taking all ideas for mechanical and aesthetic upgrades on the w210 body style

Hi guys, I am new to this site but I can tell this is probably a frequently asked question. So forgive me if I am just repeating something you have already heard before.

I currently own an 2001 E320 sport. I have about 7.5 grand saved up and would like to give it some modifications. I know I would be better off selling it and getting the e55 but there is a certain sentimental Value I have for the car and would like to keep it. I currently have

Remus muffler
Ram air intake
Yokohama 235/45 in the front and 245/45 in the back
Menzani rims 17" (probably replacing them with amg wheels 245 front and 265 back 18")

I have it wired for an after market sub and I am not too sure if I should buy a better battery when I actually put the speakers in.

My main priority is making it quicker, I looked into a motor swap with an e55 because (I may be wrong) the engine mounts are the same but a friend said I would have to replace the computer and Harness as well.

well, in my opinion you are already too far. It's a MB, not a civic. Take off the rims and treat her like a lady. If you really want to make it quicker, just buy the E55. I have an E320 and while it is pretty quick, you have no idea what you're missing with the E55. Engine swap is stupid - who is going to buy an E320 with a V8. Just sell your car and buy a W210 E55 that is in good condition. That is - if someone will actually pay for the monstrosity you created. Just my $0.02

Are you sure you have stated the tyre sizes correctly? If yes...does your cruise control still work as it should?

OK, so this guy puts 17" rims (just like the factory does with the Sport version), and a Remus muffler which is similar to the quality of the AMG muffler, and some air intake improvement... and you call that a Monstrosity? what do you drive on... the 15" wheels that base model (not available in the USA) w210s came with?

...I think people should be happy retrofitting their car however they feel, be it
with spinners, blue puddle lights, la cucaracha horn, etc. I buy it to suit my
needs, not what I think it would make you smile.

It may not be cost effective or the wisest thing to do, but it is my money
after all. If you are funding my efforts, perhaps you can have a say.

having said that, i support anyone having an opinion to state their case. just
hoping that it is done respectfully

Actually I was having a lot of problems with the steering wheel vibrating like crazy and thought that maybe the brakes needed to be balanced but I just had the tires and rims replaced. There isn't a vibration anymore.

Yes, but the diameters of your front and rears are different when they should be the same. This usually results in the CC being kicked off at higher speeds because the front wheels will always be spinning more quickly than the rears.
