Motor Mount replacement on 1999 E300 TD
I just replace the blower motor and cabin filters in my girlfriend's 1999 E300 Turbo Diesel. This was a pretty easy job. I have not changed engine mounts before but the process does not seem too terribly difficult from what little I can find. How tough is this job?
Does anyone have some good detailed instructions with graphics on changing the engine mounts on this car?
Help appreciated!

The procedure varies slightly depending which engine/drive train you have but you should be able to figure out the differences. Mostly just a case of harder or easier to reach top bolts and which direction for removal -- forward or backward.
There are DIY's for this common repair on benzworld and peachparts.
Some tips -
1- Before removing the old mount make a mark on the side. After removing it, transfer the mark to the new one. There is a slot and key which must line up and the mark helps.
2 - Note in most (all?) cases you will have to lift the engine especially to insert the new mounts.
Generally, the difficulty is in removing the top bolt. There is not much clearance so a short wrench or a stubby ratchet works best. Sometimes a medium screwdriver or pry bar can be used to get leverage when loosening or tightening the bolt.

Out Of Control!!
All I would say is that if you have never done one on the driveway, do yourself and girlfriend a huge favor.Spend the twenty bucks for a 24 hour MB Startek subscription---plug your VIN and simply search for the 8 pages of repair docs there are small tips of information, especially when it comes to raising the diesel, that will make the job a quicker success.
Don't get me wrong, but are you trying to make points with the girlfriend or how do you know/ does she really need mounts!!!
