98 E320-Where's the CD Changer cable?

I bought a USA Spec 6 Disc CD Changer for my 98 E320. It came with an adapter that apparently just plugs into the cable in the trunk with no splicing necessary.

I was told the cable would be behind the carpet in the right (I assume right means passenger side here in the US?) rear quarter panel in the trunk. I removed the carpet from the right rear quarter panel but I can't find the cable!

Also, where's the best place to mount the changer?

Thanks for your help.

You couldn't find the cable because... you were told the wrong side! It's behind the LEFT side. Try doing a search here in the forums and you should find this information already.

Thanks - found it! I installed it under the parcel shelf on the drivers side. It was REALLY simple once I found the cable and literally plug and play! Works directly off the factory installed radio too - no RF remote controllers.

Thanks again for your help.
