Window operator rivots

The front passenger side window of my 96 e320 quit working so I removed the door panel and found that the rivots that hold the operator in place were in the bottom of the door. There is also a tab on the operator that appears to be bent as well. I am recovering from neck surgery so I can't position my head to really look up inside and see if anything wrong. Is anyone familiar with this sort of problem? I was planning on bending the tab to what I think is straight and installing new pop rivots.Does anyone know what else I should look for.

Thanks
Bob

Did the whole regulator assembly fall out of place? If I remember correctly, it should have a bent hook on the bottom that hooks in to the door at the bottom. Then it swings in to place and can be rivited or just bolted back in. I replaced mine in the back passanger door and just used nuts and screws. I double nutted them on the inside and put lock-tight on the threads.

Yes I believe that is the case. If I just hold it place with some small screwdrivers, the window will work. I am wondering what caused the problem in the first place.

Could have been a bad rivit job originally. It is hard to say what caused it but if you can get it lined up again and bolt it in place that might fix it.
