Mirror problems

My mirror on drivers side has a gold tint to it. Also kinda has a haze or double vision look to it. Not real clear. Anyone know what's wrong with it.

yup, like Plutoe implied, it's the electro photochromatic ectoplasm which is losing its chemical structure. be careful, if it leaks onto your paint, it may cause problems for the finish. so be sure to check the seal surrounding the perimeter of the mirror

i seem to recall one frugal person took the rubber seal off and cleaned off the ectoplasm and sealed it back and saved having to buy a new mirror surface.

you can also buy aftermarket ones for about $20-ish

check the CHEAT SHEET under "mirror "

The actual self dimming aftermarket replacement is more like $275. and an MB version might be twice as much.

hey, i was rushing home to watch Monday Night Football....and World Series

i missed typing a few words. the aftermarket ones are heated but not autodim.
hard to find autodim outside of MB. i managed to get complete new covers,
motor, and mirrors..both sides...for $80 by keeping an eye out on the MB forums
when folks are parting out.
