Coolant flush?
Was planning on changing the coolant on my 210. That's the only thing ive neglected. My car has never overheated but it seems too run really hot. What kind of coolant does it take? Any tips on servicing the coolant? Thanks

Unless you want to go to the dealer you can use Zerex G05 or the newer G48. Both are approved coolants for our cars. The G05 is the yellowish color we are all accustomed to seeing. The G48 is a blue color which is now standard fill if you get it from the dealer. BTW, the stuff from the dealer is formulated and bottled by Valvolene as is Zerex.

how much coolant do I need? do I only use coolant? I heard somewhere its half 50/50 coolant and half distilled water. Ive been topping off with regular 50/50 coolant hope I didn't mess anything up. As for for how hot my car gets when I pull out the engine oil dipstick after driving for a bit its super hot cant even touch it when idling you can feel a lot of heat coming under the car and from the engine bay. The heat may be caused by other problems im having with my car right now (misfire rough idle) but that's another story

MB recommends a coolant change every 3 years. It will require about two gallons of 50:50 coolant if you drain via the petcock on the bottom of the radiator with the expansion tank cap off. You can get a little more out via the drain plug on the engine block which might be a good idea in some cases. Coolant is a 50:50 mixture of pure anti-freeze (ethylene glycol and additives) and water. Zerox sells both anti-freeze and pre-diluted coolant so read the label. It's not necessary to use distilled water but most people do. If you have really hard water (your own well?) DI water is probably a good idea. You want to stay as close as possible to 50:50 for best heat transfer and corrosion protection. If you are having to add, you need to find the leak or vapor loss and repair.

EASY,
Heater on to full power, turn on the engine for 5 min, thet let it cool down. Open the purge valve at the bottom of the front radiator (drivers side), flush. I dont remember how much coolant the car has, but the cars manual will tell you.
Buy blue pentosin coolant, allong with destiled water (50/50).
Remember to open the tank cap when flushing.

Update, I did all that I used zerox 05 and the rest distilled water. The car runs substantially cooler, doesn't get hot that fast. Before the temp gauge would always be so close to the 100 mark. Now its stays a little lower. And yes! my car seems to have regained lost power. Car runs way stronger I guess these cars have to run at a certain temp right?
