97 E320 screetching noise when on the accelortator not on braking
another issue we cant figure out is when im driving i hear like a small screetching / whistling sound ONLY when my foot is on the accelorator not when braking or coasting ONLY when im on the accelorator and it happens when im going between 20/mph and 40/mph after that either it does not make the sound or i just cant hear it. its hard for me to hear because i have to be close to or driving by objects so the sound will echo/bounce back to me. but its annoying and slightly embarasing. any idea's
Thanks
JD

the shaking is fixed it was simple
I got it fixed it turned out to just be the cyl 5 fuel injector $150part + 90 labor & testing. its smooth as a still pond now i just have to find out about that whistling sound i have taken it to a couple of people most say they cant hear it but i can hear it loud its a semi high pitched noise only when i am on the accelorator and it is constrant until i get past about 35 or 40mph then it stops or i cant hear it its hard for my to hear because I have to be close to an object while driving to hear it so the sound will echo back to me and its ONLY when im on the accelorator... Thanks you guys

I noticed the same whistling on my 2001 E320 and also on a friends 2000 E320. Can't seem to figure it out. Could be an alternator bearing, water pump bearing , power steering bearing or possibly the throttle body whistling. Only when I am on the gas. I hope someone has figured out the Identity of the whistling.
