Computer & ECU Question 1997 E320 M104

new to forum.

inherited 1997 e320 sedan - m104 engine. had it towed to my place. turns over. does not start.

looked around....the ECU cover was open and the first row of electronics was missing. anyone know what these computers/electronics are?

to be more specific...looking at the engine compartment - the computers in the far left corner covered by an odd shape cover. there are a few rows of computers. the row closest to the front of the car is completely missing...anyone know what was there?

if someone could ID the contents of that entire area, that would be much appreciated. but most especially the front row - that would be great.

if you need more info, let me know.

car is a 1997 E320 with M104 engine.

many thanks. trying to get this thing on the road.

first210, Yup that's where the K40 relay & over load protection board goes. without that your car wont start. you can pick one up on Ebay for around $100 or go to a junkyard, but you have to get one specifically for a 97, a 96 might work but 98 and newer use a different type of relay box. I'll try to post a pic of it for you so you have an idea of what i looks like.

Good luck Rusty
