Angled MB Badge

Hey guys. Question and opinion requested of you all. I have been toying around with the flat badge and the orignal three point Mercedes badge. When I put the flat badge on it seems to me as if something is missng to the front of the car. Sort of an identity thing. Anyways, I re-installed the original badge and tilted it back to match with the fender line along the headlamps. Kind of gives it a "fast" look. When it's straight up it seems a bit too large especially with the car lowered. What do you guys think? Am I on something with this one. Lame or leave it?

Yes, yes I know...I've already ordered painted side markers from EvoSport.

I think I know how you feel. One of the things I love about driving my Benz is seeing that 3 pointed star on the hood where ever I go. I had mine broken off once when I had the car detailed. The drive to the dealership to pick up a new one was strange. I could never put a flat badge on. Tilting it back makes it look more sporty. I tried that for a while and then tilted it back up again.

Being used to looking at the star sitting up, to me it looks as if it's crooked or something. It kinda looks like you hit it against something or like the spring is busted and it's sagging. I like mine the way it sits, up and perky, kinda like...nevermind, lol. That's just my .02 centz...

Not all the time - I hope, LOL

MBZ12, I think we're on a par here. Like it was once said, if it's not for any other purpose, it helps for aiming at grannies with trolleys.......IMO, flat badges and CL grills look more appropriate on coupes and sportier looking Benz's - otherwise Mb would have used it on ours, right?

I understand your dilemma. On your year car (facelift), the slope of the hood makes the ornament more noticiable, I guess more when lowered. I don't like the angle back setting either, but how about a different finish? A while back, someone painted a hood ornament black. From the side, with most back grounds, the ornament would not cut into your side profile view. But from the driver's seat, you will always see the silhouette. If black is too extreme, maybe a black chrome finish would work, or something in between.

i think the angle of the badge should match the angle of the grill - right now it looks tweaked, like fresh out of the car wash.

Thanks guys. Each of you provide some good feedback. I think what I'll do is pull the badge forward a bit and leave it that way. That is until the next bug crawls up.....
