need help in this

please somebody help me identifying the consule in the photo and what it used for, there is nothing in the manual about it.

It doesn't look like a factory item to me. Turn the key on (required for power to the cigar lighter) and push some buttons to see what happens.

my ride is E-280 4matic model 1999 and when I switch it on and choose time something in the engine blows like water pump or aircon.

I believe it is for your parking heater (Standheizung). I don't know how it works, though.
