W210 oil over max
Hello everyone yesterday I put 8.5 quart of oil into my 1998 mercedes w210 and then when I checked it it seems to be a little over max & the red warning came in .
I don't know why everybody says it's 8.5 even the manual
I really appreciate any suggestion

8.5 US qts is the correct amount IF you a) replace the filter, b) there is no sludge buildup in the engine and c) you drain every last drop out with the car sitting on level ground. Most of the time most of us do something less than that. 
Just drain a little out and use the dipstick to set the engine to the correct amount. Congratulations -- you are now officially wiser.
