225/50R18 Tires?

Hi, I have an E430 and I currently have 225/45/R18 tires on my car. I would like to go up to 225/50R18 tires to add sidewall for smoother ride. I have at least 3 inches in the front and rear wheelhouses. I was wondering does anyone have these size tires on their car? Is it possible to have these tires installed on my car? Thank you in advance for your support.

your current tyres are already too tall,i would not recommend going any taller, your speedo will be way out and you risk rubbing on suspension or wheel arch. Maybe switch to 17' s if you dont like the ride quality, good luck.

I agree with the other post here that your tires are too tall and if it's a lll about the ride, to go to 17"s or OEM 16"s.

Here's a link http://www.geocities.ws/mymercedesbe...oy_wheels.html to when I went to 18"s and while the ride is firmer, I'm happy with the look and ride. Plus, there is minimal speedometer error. I'm also glad that I did not go to 19"s; I'm just too old for that kind of ride quality, though 19"s and 20"s look really sharp.
