The fender blinkers really do make a difference huh? Good job

I don't know what happened to my fog lights. There is like a dark red, black on the passenger side film, build-up of something inside the housings on the glass. The bulbs are still intact and everything is working fine. I have no idea. The only thing I have on them are the Xpel clear covers to keep the lenses from chipping..... But you can clearly see it's from the inside. When I get some new bulbs I'll take it apart and check it out.

I'm also thinking about getting a pair of the chrome mirror covers off Ebay..... I like chrome, and feel that final accent would complete my list of chrome accessories for the exterior.

Dunno man, gotto watch over doing it with the chrome - I've seen chromed mirror covers with blinkers here (except the blinker is like the S-class type - runs along the whole width of the mirror instead of just the corner).

Mich, once you remove the fogs the lense will separate from the housing. Check the housing out, if it looks clean, it could be the lense. One of my foglight lenses had busted and I replaced it with a new one, wow what a difference. I then had to go and buy another one just so they would match...

Yeah, looks like the entire deck was changed....look how those headrests sit so nicely inside the deck

Did any mod have to be done to fit it into position?

Easy to do

The new shelf is from a 2001 E-Class. It included the rear brake light that is built right in the the rear deck. The connector needed to be changed in order to plug in the the original rear light.

The rear seat has to come out and the headrests need to come off. There are only 2 screws that hold the rear deck in place. It just slides up and out.

Yes, I did find it on ebay. It was the same color are the headliner and seats in my car and included the rear brake light.

The new one is a perfect OEM fit.

Alex and I also want to do this. That looks tight. I am going to have to call a couple of my junkyard buddies again to see if they have any. Last time I tried they didn't and said it was hard to get a hold of a clean one . We'll see, good job E!

The person I got the shelf from upgraded to the rear power shade and had to replace his shelf with a 2 piece one. His old one was very clean and the brake light works great. So it is possible to upgrade to a rear shade and a new style center brake light at the same time.

E-Klasse...

How do you remove the rear headrests? I'd wanna Dynamat the rear deck at the same time.

remove rear headrests

Once you have the back of the rear seat out, roll down the insolation and you will see 3 large oval shaped holes just below the headrests. Reach through the holes and find the release tabs on both side of the posts to the headrest. The posts to the headrests are held in by spring clips that need to be lifted up with the release lever so that the knotch in the post can slide past. Do one post at a time. Hold the release and push back on the headrest at the elbow of the post. When you do the other side, make sure the side you just did doesn't pop back in. Be carefull not to break off the release tabs either. They are just a small piece of plastic about an inch long.

The shelf for the rear shade is 2 parts. You might just have to get the part with the brake light on it or find the whole 2 part shelf.
