Car audio question about preampvoltage....

I know that it is recommended to use headunits with preamp voltage of 4volts or more. Can you get around preamp voltage by using a Line driver (output converter) to increase the voltage of the speaker outputs? The unit I want only has 2v preamp outs. So I am wondering if I used a output converter to up the volts would it work? or use something like this http://www.scosche.com/car-stereo-output-converter. or this --> http://www.audiocontrol.com/t34/5249...rol-Input.html
