need mercedes info for dummies here. sorry. on my 01 e320 wagon, auto tranny, what does the esp(off) button do, and also the w/s switch next to the shifter? and recommended settings in what situations. help much appreciated. thanks

Depending on where you live and what season you are driving in helps with the settings!!

I am in Florida and always have ESP on and the transmission in S which always starts me off in gear one-----the W starts you off in gear 2(great for wintry situations)

that makes sense. I have turned it off and not noticed a difference but not when being super aggressive on canyon roads. as it is I cant believe how great this car handles. i have great tires and rims and its lowered a little bit, but still, I can power through twisty canyon roads at double speeds and it shows no sign of breaking loose at all. very impressive for a bigger car. as well as how fast for 6 cylinder.
