Anyone else have a complaint about how lousy the wiper works?I get streaks on the outside after the new blade is only 2 months old.Compare that to the way my wifes maxima makes it crystal clear,I feel puzzled. There must be an alternative that makes a difference, any ideas fellas?

Hmmmmmmm, that sounds wacky enough to work.I wonder if that wiper additive from p21 would work.

same here
I wash it every week to 10 days,i guess i wasnt using enough of it.I agree that when its working ,it really does help. But in the northeast here we got plenty of rain and when it stops working, you're practically driving blind,no warning.

'04 Silverado Z71 - sold all my Benzes and need another!
Vinegar on the windshiel huh...How about some olive oil and some spices as well. Not only will you have a slippery windshield from the oil causing the chatter to go away, but it will taste like Italian dressing too :p ...
No, on a serious note, I have even tried replacing the entire arm to a new one and still chatter. I think I will also try Rain-X as everyone has suggested.

I personally use a fresh SOS pad on the windows. Helps remove anything stuck to it like bug debris, etc.... Then I just use Isoprpyl alchohol that you can get anywhere and wipe off the wiper blade with a paper towel properly. Then apply your Rain-X and you have a window that will remain clear.

I see I wasnt alone.Anyone else think that for the money we pay for these sleds,we shouldnt have to discuss ways to see out the window?Anywho,I like the isopropyl idea Mich,so I'll get the glass real clean, then maybe use rain-x.AGAIN.

I would use a razor blade before an SOS pad on the windshield. I get a buildup of crap right where the wiper blade rests at the bottom of the windshield--and it get's caught. Rain-Ex works...apply liberally yet buff off hard. I just replaced the wiper blade too (I also got it from K-mart from all places and it works perfectly).
And my Maxima was better too! Thank God MB finally abandoned the mono wiper.

I've tried RainX and would not recommend it.
Like others have said, the key is to keep the glass and wiper relatively clean.
I use Invisible Glass cleaner on the glass. The stuff is amazing and I highly recommend it. In addition, clean the wiper blade frequently with denatured alcohol. You'll be surprised how much dirt comes off!
I don't have a problem with glass streaking on my W210. What I don't like about the wiper is the noise from the mechanism, especially at the highest speed.

I actually like the single wiper blade, it looks kinda of cool, and another thing that is unique to BENZs.
When it rains and I turn it on people sometimes ask me what happened to the other wiper blade, I just tell them it fell of.

This single wiper is the best..... wipes better than any double armed wipers I've seen. Covers a lot or surface area. More so than convential double armed wipers.

Indeed MB's wiper is really bad. Only one thing I like in a crappy Lexus of my wife is wipers. They provide very good job, and completely automatic when I need to turn MB wiper on to get work automatically. And I know we never use any solutions on Lexus so wipers worked well without any efforts from our side. Probably MB understood error of engineers and switched to two wipers in the new version.

Haven't done anything with my glass since a year ago (when I replaced it)! Sounds like a lot of work, whichever way you do it.....
Some great ideas and some whacky ones tho' - I like the Italian dressing best
