96 E320 head ticking! Replace head, replace engine, or rebild head??? plz help.
Hello every1 and thank u 4 ur time...
i am really in-need of a professional opinion!
i have a 96 e320, the engine ticks. did a compression test and cylinder 5 has 100 pressure only. was told it's the valve. now, what is my best route to go... replace engine, replace head with rebuilt one, or rebuild MY head??? my car has 213k miles. drives well. check engine light on.
thank u again for ur time and God-bless : )

Prefer to open the head first, it's not that difficult, if no any cracks between inline path or valves,
then you can easily change the valves or the Hydraulic tapped lifters(which usually caused that ticking),,
M104 is like a fun to work with...![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
