Fan not working on E240 W210

Fan not working on E240 W210
Fan and air conditioner not working, what could be the problem and how do I do diagnostics coz I took out the blower , but couldn't see any sign of fault on it when I inspected it visually.

After having same problem in my 99 E300 w210, RHD with no pretty LCD display just ugly dials...... I learnt from the immeasurably more knowledgeable folks on here the basics of how it all is supposed to work. After putting power direct to fan motor and it springing to life I suspect In my case it was the motor regulator/ resistor. I have one on order.
Although I'm now curious if I could somehow fit the pretty LCD screen controller in my vehicle .... Hmm

Out Of Control!!
That's a great idea while one elbow is on the walnut watching Insp Morse, however in the practical sense you will have more luck with changing over to the euro rather than changing over the AC controllers------FYI do a search----many repeat many have tried, none have succeeded----one respondent suggested that his divorce was easier!!
