2001 E430 - looking for suggestions
I recently picked up a 2001 E430 that had been sitting for the past year and about 140k miles on it total. Car was running ok for the first few weeks but has since began to stall at random time. here's what's been done:
1) replaced CPS and fuel lines
2) replaced leaking battery and bad alternator
3) diagnosed transmission fluid made it to TCU, dried out and also replaced with used (but dry) TCU
Mechanic is at a loss and while no codes are being triggered, can't seem to fix the root cause.
I'm hesitant to put any more money into the car to replace random parts that may not fix the underlying issue - suggestions and input would be appreciated. I can probably get a few hundred for junking it. I live in Manhattan so keeping it around and parting out is not an option. Any high-value parts I should take out and resell prior to going the junkyard route?
Other option would be to donate to charity, but with recent IRS tax code changes, not sure how much it would get for at auction.
Car is in great shape otherwise, hate to part ways so soon but also don't want to keep throwing $$$ at the issue.
thanks!

If the car is in good condition other than the problems you outlined, if you can get it to the dealer or an Indy that has Star/DAS diagnostics, they should be able to pinpoint the problem. Just because it is not throwing an OBD code, does not mean there are not DTCs. In NYC, it should cost $150 or so to do a quick scan.
