2000 e320 coolant temp sensor removal.
Hello All,
Just attempted to replace my coolant temp sensor but I have no clue on how to remove the old one. It is held in place by a clip that can be pulled upwards. But there it has a hard stop against the bottom of the air pump. In the most up position the temp sensor is still locked in place by that clip. Any trick that I am missing?

No, not in the 2000 320, it is next to the thermostat and held in place by a clip. The clip moves up but not quite enough for the sensor to be pulled free. Looks as if I need to remove the thermostathousing simply to get some room to wiggle the little clip out but that looks like overkill for something as simple as replacing a tiny sensor. Any tips or tricks?
