help plzzz, W210 1998 Elagance IR Key Problem
![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
Hey Dears,
I have a W210 e280 1998 Elagance. Yesterday when I switched off the car went down and tried to lock the car but couldn't lock, the red LED in the Electronic key is blinking but not locking. Than I tried to start the car again but it did not work too even the steering wheel not unlocking.
I have checked the all fuse and checked to the key in the repair shop but everything looks good.
please guide me to solve the issue... thanks to all

since Plutoe delivered the news that you're screwed let's try some things
first of all Can you open up the key and check if any of the electronic stuff is broken off (big coil on the board is what am getting at) just take pics

Read you manual----your key transmits two different type frequencies and the batteries have nothing to do with starting the car, repeat, nothing to do with starting the car!!
My reply is based upon your post "key in--no unlock-car no start" if you can't get by the DAS check and unlock the car---three things could be at fault--low voltage, bad key, bad ignition switch!!
PS: You own an MB----voodoo or afternoon prayers will not solve your problem!!
