power steering fluid

My wife calls from the inlaws tonight and says the car is making a loud screeching noise when turning. It's cold here, about 30F. I'm thinking (hoping) the power steering fluid is low.
She's 70 miles away and has the owners manual with her. Anybody know what type of power steering fluid I need and where the reservior is?
Sorry to be a pain, but this is kind of like talking someone through landing a plane.

Any help is appreciated

Jeff,
The manual says to use MB power steering fluid, no other specifications. Have her put standard power steering fluid in it. Considering the situation, I don't think this will hurt. The power steering fluid is a black cap on the driver's side immediately in front of the block. In fact, it looks like the reservoir is attached to the block. It's just behind the serpentine belt.

Good luck, I hope your pump isn't bad.
