Upgrading from W124 to W210

1997 E320 Avantguarde
Upgrading from W124 to W210
I'm contemplating upgrading from a 1990 300E 24V to a late 90s E320.
Any feedback re problems to watch out for in 2nd hand W210 series would be appreciated

E350 and E450
300E to E320
I went from a 1990 300E to a 2002 E430. The 210 is more luxurious and obviously has way more power. I will say that the 1990 E is better built and believe it or not, has a better radio tuner. I also think the 1990 was quieter. I wouldn't go back because I love the power and luxury but that 1990 was built like a rock. Only a collision that bent the frame took that car out of my hands.

Thanks for your reply. My 300E-24 is top spec so luxury is not a major cosideration but Australian company car fringe benefit tax system makes it uneconomical to hang onto the car forever.
I've just committed on a 97 E320 Avantguard with all options but did notice many of the niceities of the 300E (such as inglass rear window demister, infills between seats and console, drivers seat arm rest) have gone. Also noted my 300E seat leather at 210,000 kms looks as good as the E320 leather at 90,000 kms. But time will tell.
Would have loved a E430 but not many sold new here so 2nd hand price pretty high

I went from a 1994 E320 to a 1999 E320. I never looked back! SO much better. Though I will give it to you, the W124 seemed more solid, but you can't beat the increased power, updated look etc.
