Hums louder/quieter according to speed! Please help!
Hi!
This past weeks i've been experiencing an humming that grows noticably louder when i accelerate past 50+ mph.
It starts as a low-frequency, slow humming that can't be heard unless i turn off both AC and radio.
When i accelerate it grows louder and faster, and when i reach 50+ it's hard to ignore.
It also appears all humming seizes when i turn to the left while driving.
Sorry for the weird sentence-structure. English is not my native language.

Usually a "humming" noise that changes with speed, but stops when you turn the wheel is a wheel bearing. Get the front end up in the air and see if there is noticeable play in either wheel. If you have a rwd, it should be a pretty straight forward job. If you have a 4matic, its a hassle and only a DIY if you're pretty well equipped (need a press).

Some MB (Becker) radios have a feature called GAL (graduated audio level?). It increases the volume as the car's speed is increases. Just a thought but it explains some of your symptoms although it may not be working correctly. If you have the radio manual check to see if you can access the service menu. Generally, setting GAL to 0 shuts it off.

No I don't think so. That's why I said 'some of' the symptoms.
