False Brake Pad Light?

Anyone else have a false brake pad warning light/indicator kick in? Happened to my mom's car over the last few weeks -- I ordered pads (even had them overnighted), but the light went out about two or three days ago, and when I pulled all the wheels off, all the pads had plenty of meat left. Any ideas, or if this has happened to others? Thanks...

Did you check the front and rear pads? What car is it? DId you check the brake fluid level?

Yep, checked all the pads. Brake fluid was fine -- besides, it's a different warning.

2001 E430...it's in my sig.

I would recommend replacing the sensors. You should be able to do this with only taking the wheels off. If your car is the same as mine it is the two front wheels and the passenger side rear wheel. The sensors are a buck something.

At the least check each sensor for condition.

Thanks for the tip. I'll probably have to wait -- frankly, I'm just way too spread out right now to worry about it. And besides, the warnings have stopped, so I'll live with it (or rather, my mom will have to live with it) for now. Either that, or I'll just have MB replace the sensors (they're covered under warranty, right?) the next time the car goes in for service.
