Hi guys. I just purchased a 2002 E320 4Matic with 145k on it. There are a lot of little things to be done on it so I am picking my way through them.
My first struggle is the washer squirter nozzles. They were not working so I opened up the underside of the hood to see what I could find. I found the two nozzle assemblies and took them out by pressing the two clips into the hood to release the assembly. I can't tell if the nozzles were simply unhooked from the hose or not but either way they work now. The problem I am having is that I cannot for the life of me get the nozzle assemblies to clip back into the hood. The plastic "h" shaped clips (See screwdriver pointing to them) won't engage and I can't figure out how they are supposed to work.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Or are the clips one-time use clips that need replaced?

These clips don't want to secure the nozzle again.
They should just clip back in...try a short sharp thump with the palm of your hand...may do it. Though I fear you may have broken something...it's dark here or I would have a look...I've had mine off a couple of times.
I think I figured out what is wrong. I thought those clips needed pushed in to release them. We'll, I'm guessing that i shouldn't have pushed them to the point of them separating from the nozzle assembly. So they are now loose from the assembly and it looks like I'll be buying a couple new nozzles...
