Poor AM radio reception below 700kHz?
I have a 2001 E430 without the navigation system.
My AM radio reception seems to be very poor below 700kHz, it gets much worse as I get to 600kHz.
Is this just a function of where I live and the strength of the local stations in the area, or is it just a weakness of the radio?
Also, does anyone know the routing of the AM/FM antenna through the car? Sometimes I think the reception can change when I hit a pothole / bump in the road at highway speeds.
Thanks!
Kevin

After some searching I Installed a Better antenna !
I Then Installed a W140 S class rear bumper antenna in my W210
and its Perfect!
Do a search on Mercedesshop.com I posted the Info there
or Visit the MB dealer about a W140 rear bumper antenna
you will need a extension and connectors ..drill a hole in the rear body panel install a grommet to seal the cable and glue the antenna to the INSIDE of the rear bumper

Info on W140 antenna install
Mark,
Per your post I went to the Mercedesshop website and did a search for your posting regarding how you installed the W140 antenna on your W210 and was unable to find it.
Can you provide more information as to where your posting can be found (I checked Car Audio and also did a site-wide search). I could not find your posting. Ideally, if you could provide the actual link that would be great.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

No tint on this car.
I found some general info on this problem on the MercedesShop.com site, but I can't find your post about the W140 antenna.

My 01 E320 has a similar problem that was corrected by the dealer. Apparently there is a antenna signal booster or antennuator of some sort in the system that failed
