First FSS Service Done
'01 E430. I had the service done today (@13,060 miles, FSS said I had 200 more to go). Funny thing is that with the new oil, the FSS now calls for a "B Service" in 10,000 miles. Is that how it works? I don't know why, but I was expecting another "A" service.

Read your owners manuals! It may sound silly to the(sometimes admittedly) ****y minded folks like myself - but every time i read through it I find I learn some little thing about the car I didn't know.
Services go ABABAB. If you buy into all of that. 12,000 miles on the original oil. Get real! The soot content is probably out of control, i'd love to see a oil analysis.

Actually, 13,060. I posted on the Oil Analysis page a while back about the MB FSS system requirements and based on the replies and from analyses that others have done, the oil may still be usable even after 12K miles. I did get a 1/4 quart sample for analysis. I will post the results as soon as I get it done. And, yes, I read the manual end to end - once.
