Hi all I have a 2001 W210 E320 and since this morning the key fob did not work to unlock/lock the car. I have previously disabled the alarm (fuse) as it had faults so that was not an issue when I used the mechanical key to manually unlock the car.
Once inside, I can start the car. However...
* the windows do not work
* the electronic seats do not work as well as the steering wheel adjuster
* the boot (trunk) switch does not work
* central locking switch does not work
* wipers do not work
* and finally the rear cabin light is constantly on and does not turn off.

Thus I disconnected the battery to not drain it.
I have been reading forums about resetting the ECU and reprogramming/re-syncing the electronic key but that did not make a difference (overall and the unlock/lock didn't work either). I thought I'd take this opportunity to ask before I take it in to a mechanic and get ripped off...

All of the systems you mention tie in to one common place: The signal acquistion module, aka the module under all the fuses under the hood on the drivers side. Is it possible that some water or something leaked into it? I'd suggest poking around in there a little bit and seeing what you find. Good luck!
