Replacement steering wheel - viable?
I am guessing that a replacement wheel is impractical, eh? Would lose the bag function, etc. But thought I'd ask about this possiblity anyhoo. Never know what fancy aftermarket thang is out there.
(I miss the ability to quickly maneuver the car in slalom like fashion)
Do a search on the board and you'll find lots of pics and choices of real pimp wheels
however, your steering wheel would be the one with the control stuff on it right? i think they'll be making new steering wheels for those..they're stopping production for the pre 98 ones soon..
I saw one that was sweet but at RM3500, its wayyy too much compared to a Momo.. :P
duh.....i was trying too hard (aftermarket) when the answer may have been much simpler. thanks, bro for the lead!
Carlsson9, stop quoting in RM's! LOL!

but for info, the racing wheel i saw was about US950...
exactly like the AMGs. Brabuses and Carlsson sport steering wheel..uses back the original air bag
Hey, you gotto think "international" - USD is the "international currency"! (p.s. everyone should know where you're at by now, LOL!)

The site's in German, and it'll do some funky things as far as frames are concerned, but there's a nice lineup of steering wheels. I'm seriously thinking of one for my car, since I don't have a multi-function steering wheel.
EDIT: I forgot, there's a US importer/dealer, they may be able to help you with fitment's, etc.

Here is a pic. of my Brabus sport wheel and I love it!
Hey jimmy, just out of curiosity, is that wheel any smaller than the stock one?
No, I believe it's the same size wheel as the stock, only feels completely different because of the thickness and the grips. It's a very thick wheel so you get more grip and control when steering. It's one of the best mods I ever did...
Jimmy - Do you know where I can get one for my car?

Raid is basically the OEM company that does stuff for AMG and even Brabus (example pedals)
jimmy, how much did you pay for the brabus steering? looks like the one i want to get but can't afford yet..
