Smile Navigation & Diff E320/E430

So almost there.

now i have a couple of options.

a) 2000 E320 with navigation. My question is: If I was to get a car with navigation package, do I have to update the software yearly? and if i do, how much does it cost? Or is it already updated and will keep on updating? (50k miles)

b) 1998 E430 with Starmark warranty. (37K miles)

Now that i have lurked for a while, i understand the pre-00 have diff bumpers and mirrors.

Other than that, would i be getting a better deal with the e430. assuming the prices are the same.

Please advice. =) Thanks!

If you are happy with the performance of the 00' E320, I would go with that over the 98' E430. More modern car with less expenses to take care of it.

You never have to update the software, but of course it will slowly become out of date as roads are added and changed. I don't know how often it is revised, but it should cost about $300 for the USA coverage (many CDs). You might find it for less on ebay. The NAV system is not the best, but it is much better than having none. Also a great bonus is that you get an aux input jack in the glove box to plug your iPod into - very handy! The 2000 E320 is a fantastic car!
