New to the Forum
Great forum! Currently I own a Black 2000 E430 E1/2 packages. Car has 50K miles on it and is just come off of warranty. I am thinking about having some performance work done. I would like to get more Hp/ torque and better handling out of the car. Any suggestions?

Upgrade the exhaust system and the intake airfilter assembly. Some people have said that putting more heat resistant tape on the air box and intake tube help keep the air cooler. Increasing the air flow with a better airfilter would help. Then decide if you want to spend even more to install a supercharger but then you are sinking $5K to $10K if not more in to it. You might be better off just selling it and getting a 2000 E55.

Does cooling the air really make a difference? I saw a filter system that works like a bong to cool the air, supposed to be new technology. Claimed 5-10hps gain, problem is the water evaporates and needs to be topped up every second day!

Hot air is thinner than cold air resulting in less O2.

Kleemann may also have the best suspension for W210. I want one. Or you can get the AMG E55 suspension from any dealer.

Carlsson
Eisenmann
Lorinser
Kleemann
Remus
RennTech
Supersprint

I believe Supersprint is the only one with a Cat-Back setup which includes a mid muffler and rear exhaust.

Thanx for everyone’s help. I am going to check out a Silver 01 E55 18k miles on it for 46k at my local MB dealer. I want to get an idea how flexible they are with the car ($$) plus what they would give me for a trade in. Will keep everyone updated.
