what coulda happened when i hit the kickdown?
1999 e320 82k miles
was driving 90mph steady on the freeway for 5 mins, exited, and i wanted to pass a car so i said what the hell i'll hit the kickdown it's been a week i haven't done it, so i punch it and the revz just go up real quick and car just kept rolling as if it's in nuetral...the 1st half a second or so felt normal cuz when i hit the kickdown it takes that time to shift into the lowest gear, but this time the revz went up all the way and car didnt move even when i eased up on the gas (which i did within 3 seconds), so i threw it in nuetral then back into D and went.
didn't try kickdown again, but what the hell could have happened? i've never mistreated the car to say it's from abuse

Your ESP could have kicked in. It's happend to me a couple of time when I've really floored it and the wheels have spun. All you get are revs. If you can't wait the the 6secs or so just turn off your ESp and everything is back to normal
