Working on solution for trans shifter spill issue

Hi all,

I have some time to investigate and hopefully develop a solution to our shifter spill limp mode issue. I hope to bring to our community a simple and inexpensive solution.

I need a broken/damaged unit that is inoperable but un-tampered with. If anyone has one please pm me so I can arrange to get it from you and proceed.

I'm tired of being 'that guy' who appears oddly paranoid and asks/announces to every rider not to spill or we will be walking.

I would prefer not to share much of the solution at this stage in an internet forum but know several of you guys have kicked this around a bit and may have valuable input. Please pm it to me.

Thanks.

I don't have a broken unit but being a new W210 owner, Loving the car and reading about this issue, I too am paranoid about any drinking, fluids or even condensation in that area, since ownership I haven't opened the cup holders, I tell riders true german vehicles shouldn't have cup holders anyway.

willing to be the first to purchase a solution

cars are parted out occasionally and announced on the MB forums. saw one within the past
week or two on benzworld's 210 forum. so you may want to browse by vehicle instead of
just the unit alone...as that tends to be rare
