HPS supercharger

Anyone have any experience or feedback on HPS superchargers? It is cheap 6-7k and they claim no problems. Also they claim 379.64 HP, 392.17 Ft.-lbs Torque on my E430.

Adam @ HPS brought over a test vehicle over to my place a few weeks back...The vehicle had good power from the get go! No lag! A boost gauge was installed on the dashboard showing PSI. When I tapped the gas the boost hit 4-5 instantly...I hit speeds of 130-135 on the 118 frwy without any problems, so far HPS has left a favorable impression with me. And if your hardcore...with some aftermarket software tuning & an intercooler should bump up the #s.

4 wheeled car.
I had the chance to drive a HPS s/c E430 and it's fast! I loved it! If only they had a kit for the V6 I'd be all over it!

As a previous owner of a 98 E320 and knowing the
vast #s of W210 V6 owners searching for an economical rewarding solution to increase power significantly...It does surprise me that HPS has yet to develop a system. I do anticipate other force induction system's at comparable price to soon be release, one being sometime in March.

Many W210 owners indeed may agree that they want a performance car that is luxurious and comfortable when casually driving, but also want their car to take on a sports car's persona when indulged in spirited driving.

I only hope the performance market continues to expand for the W210...and not become inferior to newer model vehicles including MBZ.

I would think that more people will be interested in modifications once their 4 year / 50K warranty expires.

I wonder if they have any commentary on how the rest of the drivetrain holds up to the increased power. And any performance numbers (0-60MPH, 1/4 mile, 50-70MPH time). Not that people intend to drag race these cars, but it would be nice to further quantify the improvements vs. stock.

The system application was design for the W210 E55 (different pulley configuration)...I spoke with the seller and ready to close the deal, but beforehand I stated I just need to confirm warranty w/HPS...and he magically disappeared along w/the system, I even offered to bump up the price to $3500...still MIA.

What is the reliability of these kits with respect to the transmission and other drivetrain components? I wonder how the rest of the drivetrain would hold up under real-world conditions.

Also, does this kit effect being able to pass emissions?

And this is why I feel a moderate single nozzle shot of N20 could be an ideal power adder for vehicles still in warranty...I've got 39K on the clock but much in need of performance improvement...Also the ability to remove this type of system within a few hours for dealer service makes convenient sense.

The test vehicle I drove was using the standard stock setup...I noticed immediately upgrades to the suspension & stickier rubber is much needed to harness the power better off the line after several runs...Rush of mid-range power is there, 60-100mph is instantaneous that you have little time to react to oncoming traffic...It's just the whine I can do without.

kjp-e430: The company has an install site in North San Diego...Give them a buzz and get first hand experience.

Interesting questions that should be addressed to the company's rep...Let us know what your findings are as I'm curious to know myself.
