E320 4matic wheels revised

Hello, a week or so ago I asked about the 10 spoke alloys from a 98-99 E320 fitting a 2003 W210 wagon. Well, finally got a chance to go look at them. They say they are off a 94 C280, but they are 16" and something doesn't seem to add up. Maybe they were not original. They really look like the 98-99 E320 wheels. But even if they aren't it looks like any 16' from the 90's have the same bolt hole pattern and offsets. So, do you thunk it would be safe to buy these for winter tires???

MB is using the same bolt pattern for decades, but beside different rim width, different models do have different offsets.
I know W210 accepts wheels from SLK just fine, but think C would have narrower wheels and might have different offset.
Narrower wheels for winter tires might be a good thing, but double check the offset.
Older cars used 15" wheels, so having 16" on C from 1994 would be a surprise.
Read the rim model number inside and exact size.

Kajtek1, thank you for your speedy replies. I went over to purchase the wheels this afternoon( which I'm pretty sure were 98-99 e320 wheels), but one had a couple of pretty good dents in the outside edge. I thought I could see a crack starting, so I decided to pass. I'll just get the winter tires mounted on my rims for this year. Thank you again, for your input and knowledge...
