Looking for 3rd Brake Light
I have a 96 E with the older style single bulb 3rd brake light.
Looks so dated. I want to get the newer style light but cant seem to find it. Do you know where I can get it and if I can just get the light housing and install it on my rear deck? Or do I have to get an entire deck.
Also, I found out that there are some newer (00 - 02) models that have the rear shade that is a 2 piece unit. Wonder it that one will work as well.
Anyone know?

You have to get the whole rear shelf. It is all one piece with the center brake light built in. You can get the 2 piece style with the rear shade and do both. I just upgraded my rear shelf with the new brake light on my 96.

THe best place is to search ebay or go to a salvage yard. I got my new shelf from a member that upgraded to a rear shade and had to get the 2 piece shelf. I got his old 1 piece and replaced mine.

Yeah, I've also been looking for the entire rear deck and they're pretty hard to come by for some reason. I need to 2 piece deck for my rear sun shade but even the 1 piece is hard to find. Alexbenz has also been looking and can't find one either.
