SRS light, SRS Control Module
Hello all.
I thought this might be useful to someone down the line. While it is "often" the passenger seat sensor failing when the SRS light comes on, that was not the cause of failure for my 2000 E55. My mechanic diagnosed it as the control module itself failing. I did a ton of searching online to see if a used one would work as the new unit costs about $1100.00!! I eventually saw a post from the UK indicating that a module from another E-class of about the same build period would work. Sure enough, i managed to get a used one from a 2000 E320. My mechanic installed it, cleared any failure codes, and boom! SRS light gone. Hope this helps anyone else out there that has this kind of failure.

First you have to define your part number in EPC---then do a search in EPC for(your) the same part number and you will then see all the different models that the part number is\was used on.
Very straight forward process, but to be correct you have to use EPC don't believe all the other BS from the spammers!!
Post your VIN and I will give you an example!!

SRS light...
Hi BigBear. It looks like Plutoe has additional insight here. I can't answer to your specific model, but the more info you have on the module, the better. In my case, i provided my supplier with a photo of the top of my unit, showing all part numbers. In my case this worked beautifully, but your car being a newer model, there may be more "involved" electronics at work. In the end the unit still needs to "talk" to your individual car. That is the key point after the fact.
