In the last few cars that I've changed to aftermarket pads, here's been my experience:
- Mintex on an Audi A4. Just about the same as factory with about 50% less dust. Good initial bite and had OEM feel.
- Axxis Deluxe on E430 with factory brakes. Mediocre when cold and okay when warm. No dust. Didn't inspire confidence.
- Axxis Deluxe on E430 with C32 brakes. Much better bite, though still mediocre when cold. Will be upgrading to Porterfeld RS4 pads next month or so.
- Axxis Deluxe on BMW (E46): Similiar to the way they performed on the Benz. Mediocre feel and less braking than OEM when cold.
- Axxis Metal Master on Porsche (factory brakes). Very nice and firm pedal. Great feel and good stopping power. Little dust compared to factory Jurid or Pagid pads.
- Porterfeld RS4 on BMW with Brembo BBK. Awesome combo and works way better than the factory setup.
Hope that helps!

I installed Axxis Deluxe pads on drilled Brembo's and the rears squealed like crazy in reverse (and only reverse). I cleaned them, reset them twice and concluded they were just too hard for the rotors.
On the rear I went back to stock pads and no squeeky squeeky.
The fronts are nice - no brake dust at all, no problems.
