Trade-in value
I am considering trading in my 1999 E320 for a 2004 Epedition ;-( With two kids my wife wants something more practical. I've gotten info from Kelly Blue Book but I thought that I could get more realistic info here. The thought breaks my heart but it's eigther the kids or the car (maybe).
It's in excellent condition in and out, Blk/Blk with powder blue/grey headliner, 47900k mls, sun/moon roof, Bose prem sys & 6 cd chgr, 4 1/2 yr/100K ml wrty in addition to MBZ power train wrty also for 4 1/2 yr/100K. I was hoping the warranties may kick up the TI value.
Also if any of you have recently purchased a 04 Expedition any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Anyways, the regular Es are a high production car and the kbb value for it will be pretty accurate. The little extras you mentioned won't give you much at a dealer but may with a private party sale. Don't expect a huge increase over the kbb value from a private party sale, as most people will use the kbb value to barter with you.

yahoo1965 is right, the MB is much more practical than an expedition. If you are trading your E class in you should expect to get around $15-17k and then the dealer will wholesale it for that amount or retail it for $21-22k.
Your should be able to get the Expedition for invoice plus the rebate. Ford makes a good product but there are a ton of them out there to choose from. Don't count on it holding it's value. If you pay $30k for an expedition expect it to be worth $15k in trade two years later.
If you want a larger car that is somewhat practical consider an M320.

BTW.... KBB, Edmunds online price guides are a crock of ****. I was going through a total loss assesment crash course Friday and have learned that Insurance companies, and municipal establishments rely on the NADA for real car values, the little orange book. The online NADA guide is also inaccurate. Of the supposed three ratings on NADA, the "average" is the value that comes closest to that of the value in the little orange NADA guide books.
