Strange braking behavior
I was replacing the front pads on the '99 E430 and when I started the engine to pump the brakes up, the engine reved on the first pump when the pedal reached the firewall. It wasn't a blip but a increasing rev. I looked to make sure nothing was touching the accelerator pedal. Possibly related, occasionally when coming to a stop, the engine will not idle down below 1,000 rpms. This makes stopping interesting sometimes. I'm suspecting a vacuum leak somewhere. Any input would be appreciated.

Yeah.
Vacuum is the only connection between brakes and engine.
I wonder if the system has program to trigger errors, so scanning would be the first thing, but I think checking brake booster for leak is in order.
