What Major items needed? 2001 e320 177k
Looking at purchasing a 2nd owner e320 177k miles 2001. Drove today and is very smooth. Had a 400E for a bit then a r500 and gl450. I like older benz better. Well what things do i really need to check for service that were done. Major items.

At 177K miles:
1st key issue is tranny - fresh service - replace tranny adapter plug - check TCM for fluid - a MUST.
2nd key issue - belt tensioner to insure it is correct "new" or updated design
3rd key issue - check water pump for signs of "weeping" pending later failure
4th key issue - idler wheel/belt
5th key issue - run AC diagnostics
