E300 Driving Lights

2009 E300 - The passenger side driving light doesn't come on when switch is in auto, driver side does. However, when engine is turned off both lights come on. Both lights also work when switch is turned to on position. How can the passenger light work in every mode except the auto position, please note the driver's side works in auto position.

Thanks in advance!
